The new Miss China is a professional model and will play host-delegate to possibly over 100 contestants in Miss World
On Sunday, September 21st on the island of Hainan, the first-ever Miss China was crowned, and she is Guan Qi, contestant number 4 from Jilin in Northeast China. She is 21 years old and 1.79 m tall and currently and undergraduate and model. She will represent China as the host delegate in the 2003 Miss World Pageant, which is set to begin in about a month. The First Runner-Up was contestant number 31, Song Bing-Jie, who is 19 years old and 1.79 m tall. The Second Runner-Up was contestant number 7, Liu Li-Nuo, who is 19 years old and 1.77 m tall. The remaining finalists were number 22, Xin Yi-Nuo (21, 1.68 m) and number 27, Sun Hai-Yan (20, 1.77 m).




The contest was organized by the New Silk Road Modelling Agency and was held in the goergous deluxe Palm Beach Resort & Spa. This year, instead of crowning a finalist at the modelling competition's final, a separate pageant was held one week later.
