First Regional Meeting China "Origin8"

The 2nd Chinese (Language) Speaking Area Origin8 Secretariat Members’ Meeting was held without a hitch by Hotel Nikko Dalian in the breezy month
of April. A total of six hotels participated, with secretariat members from chain hotels in Hong Kong and Taipei attending for the first time, expanding
the circle of exchange since the first meeting was held in August last year. The participating secretariat members gave presentations on Origin8
activities at their hotel in FY2007. These presentations were followed by heated discussion on problems found in promoting Origin8 and steps that
should be taken to achieve objectives for the current fiscal year. In particular, we were impressed by the endless hospitality of the secretariat member
and staff of Hotel Nikko Dalian, which hosted the meeting. Without
further ado, let’s take a look at what happened at the meeting!

The first overseas area Origin8 Master training program was held in the Chinese
Speaking Area on April 10th and 11th at Hotel Nikko Dalian, following the same
area’s Secretariat Members’ Meeting. Attended by a total of eleven Master
candidates from four chain hotels in China, the two-day program which was a
new endeavour for the overseas area started amidst feelings of expectancy
and uncertainty. Communicating with the Japanese trainers in their common
language of English, the Chinese Master candidates learnt skills for use in circle
activities through games and practical exercises. While they experienced some
disconcertion at this new experience and the unfamiliar training style used in
the program, we were deeply impressed by the sight of the candidates engaging
in the training with diligent concentration.

My four-day stay in Dalian for the Chinese
Speaking Area Secretariat Members’ Meeting
and Origin8 Master Training was extremely
fruitful thanks to the proactive, cooperative
attitude of the participants and the strong
“spirit of hospitality” displayed by all of the
staff at Hotel Nikko Dalian, the host hotel.
I have only one word for the swift, superattentive
care taken of me by the Origin8 Team
led by Ms. Betty Yao under the warm watch of
the GM – Wow! Thank you so much. (Koreto)

Message of encouragement for
the participants from sister hotels
Mr. Solari, GM of Hotel Nikko Dalian, was away on an
overseas business trip during the meeting, but a video
letter arrived from him on the first day. In addition
to providing warm words of welcome to each of the
participants from sister hotels, he voiced confidence
that sure implementation of Origin8 activities will make
JHC a better hotel chain. Mr. Solari’s video letter yet
again confirmed how
essential it is to have
the stout support of
the GM.
